Yesterday it was a balmy 74 degrees! The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the kids were finally able to get outside to play. Nothing like a perfectly glorious day to get my wanderlust all revved up. Add to that the release of the Anderson Design Group’s latest book and my heart’s all a flutter anticipating our next RVing adventure.
We’ve mentioned Anderson Design Group’s work before–and we even had the pleasure of stopping by the ADG office in Nashville last summer when we were in town for the eclipse. Joel Anderson and his team of amazing artists create vintage-inspired prints, including the incredibly popular national park series. The prints are crafted through a hand-illustrated style that hearkens back to yesteryear with a modern flair. We first learned about the prints a couple years ago while visiting a national park gift shop, but it wasn’t until I stopped by their website that I realized how extensive the collection is. They already have over 800 designs to their credit, with series that range from the national parks and world travel to vintage ads and camping fun (my personal favorite!).
This week ADG released an expanded edition of their wildly-popular 59 Illustrated National Parks book, which now features 30 new illustrations. The 172-pages are filled with beautiful pictures, prints, and lots of information about all 59 of our nation’s national parks. The story behind the first Illustrated National Parks book is pretty cool because it all started with ADG founder Joel Anderson and his family traveling together to visit as many of the national parks as they could see. Those travels and the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary sparked the idea that eventually led to the creation of a unique print for every national park and then the compilation of a coffee table book.
And just check out some of the spreads in this book–the pictures below are only a sampling of what you’ll find between the covers of this gorgeous book.
Aren’t the pictures amazing! This would be such a great book for a family to pore over together as they gather travel inspiration and plot bucket list trips. It would also be the perfect gift idea for a fellow traveler. And here’s the exciting part! We’ve teamed up with the Anderson Design Group for another fun giveaway: One lucky reader is going to receive the brand new, expanded Illustrated 59 National Parks coffee table book!
